Officer Involved Shooting Near Ehrlich Lake Park

Today at about 12:40 AM the Milliken Police Department responded to the 700 block of S. Saddleback Drive on report of a disturbance involving a man and woman. On scene the officers learned that one adult female had sustained a gunshot wound and a male adult was in possession of a firearm.  The male was reportedly firing the weapon randomly while officers were inside the residence. When officers confronted the suspect, they discharged their weapons at the adult male suspect, striking him.

The male and female were transported to North Colorado Medical Center for treatment of their wounds.  Conditions are not known at this time and identities have not been released.

“For a safe, tight-knit community like Milliken, these types of events can be unsettling. We rely heavily on our regional law enforcement agencies to support our local Police Department and are grateful for their partnership." Mayor Beau Woodcock

Also in keeping with standard practice, the Milliken Police Officer involved in the incident was placed on administrative leave and will remain on leave until the investigation is completed.
